trashion? ecochic? you decide!

This is the dress i made as a final piece for my personal investigation unit of A-level textiles. Very time consuming, i always make my final piece as complicated as possible since i can sew, i like to set myself challenges. I had to construct the materials for the dress, which meant capri suns all around, which then had to be washed dried, then sewn into fabric. and the disks, dont get me started, their a combination of silver voil and sew in vialeen. originally the idea was to use cans, but due to lack of materials at college it was impossible to cut the disks safely (after i wasted time collecting about 100 cans. Oh and the middle band is painted, laminated paper that has been sewn to the base dress.
Never fear i finished it in time and i think it looks pretty darn good for "rubbish". My effort was rewarded, i was given full marks for the unit, 80/80 BOOYAH. When put in an exhibition as well, which i went to see, i overheard a little girl saying it was her favorite which made me smile (even if its only because its her favorite drink probably).

I will be posting more posts of old projects just until the last exam is sat, but i have been collecting and stocking up on tshirts, trinkets and fabric like a demented hamster so i can get cracking :)

stay creative xx
