salutations readers :)

Just a quicky post to give a bit of an update. it has been a bit of a crazy month so far.
The main part of my month has consisted of personal statements and personal details, yes its that dreaded word, UCAS.
The worlds worst form every student has to fill out.
Sigh, i got there in the end, my main stresser was choices.
There were a few i was positive about, 100% sure i would love to study there, but i also wanted a good balance between hard to achieve and reasonable ones.
I have applied by the way for fashion design courses, and in some places where applicable womenswear fashion.
I ultimately, after much deliberation with lecturers, decided on London College of Fashion, Kingston, Westminster, De Montfort, and Manchester Met.
A bit apprehensive as one of my lecturers was pushing for me to go to St martins (which is one of the best in the world), but i feel i would achieve more from an institution like that when i am continuing on to do my MA.
Any way expect me to be pushing out as much work as i physically can in the next three months for portfolio, but i shall still set aside valid time for my blog :).
Wish me luck
This by the way is a nature inspired drawing of a tree girl for my current project "Holes"
I chose to look at the big invisible hole in the sky, the ozone hole.
Lots of sketches and drawings for this project to come soon.
Oh and also i have been given my next project title in advance, its about exploring the design process, long story (i will go into detail at a later date) but the materials i have to use are a human science book, and hair.
This should be interesting..

She Can Do As She Pleases Shes Nobody's Fool..

Just some images from my first life drawing session.
Considering I had never done anything like it before, i think it turned out quite well :)

DIY Brouges

I love Brouges, and loved wearing them before they filtered down into every high street store. Which is why i decided to invest in a couple of pairs of plain white ones, and turn them into something unique again.
For these i simply used ink in a variety of colors.
The only question is what colors and studs/fabric to stick on them
Im thinking a lace ruched and a leopard print (taste full of course) pair.
Just gotta get me some studs now!

Something Old, Something New..

Hey Bloggers, just a quick update on my last project. This is a piece inspired by many things. the brief title was something old something new. I chose my mothers old wedding dress and veil which was taken apart in a previous project by my grandmother, so i simply carried on with (and changed) the project.
The piece symbolises modern wedding dresses for the modern woman (there should be a skirt suit piece to sit underneath) and the idea of disposable clothing. As wedding dresses are the height one wear clothing i designed a piece that is interchangeable and, can constantly be added to and changed to suit the wearers needs and, therefore making it a more than one occasion garment. i hope you like it :)
Oh and i forgot to mention it lights up.. :)

Salutations..

I have been working so hard, slaving all my time into this course, and why? So i can use every opportunity to be creative, and make the best of my time on this course.
This took me a lot of preparation, alot of photographing and editing, and a whole lot of imagination. It was a free project to do what we wanted, no specifications. I decided to do a stop motion film, get outside of my comfort zone a little
Nevertheless i am proud of the results and hope you like them too?

well it has been a while..

i feel very guilty about the lack of blogging, especially as this is supposed to push my drive to produce work and, gain more portfolio work. :(
but quick update... i got into swansea met, my first choice for the foundation.
it is incredible there, like hogwarts for art students, and i have met some amazing people.
i got an A* in textiles, and have alot happening with work at the moment.
but im working only on art projects for 5 days of the week every week, so i should be able to get everything up and running pretty soon :)
have lots of lovely work to show you.
but for now sleep,
